Jennifer Lile:  DTBL! Tour Host

What an absolute pleasure it is to announce DTBL's newest tour host, Jennifer Lile.

I cannot think of anyone better suited to join DTBL! as a tour host to the Bible Lands.  Jennifer has gone with me numerous times to the Holy Land...taking in every piece of scholarly information, making onsite applications with Scripture, and graciously involving herself in the every aspect of each tour.  Coming home she would deeply involve herself in research - much to my delight too!

Below is Jennifer's account of how she was introduced to DTBL! - along with suggested resources she has enjoyed.

My Association with DTBL!

It was the final year of the last millennium, 2000. I graduated from law school, passed the bar exam and eagerly made plans with my husband to take a once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Holy Land with others in our congregation.

I had known since fifth grade, when my parents went with Kay Money to Israel, that I wanted to take such a pilgrimage myself if I had the opportunity. Knowing my propensity to show fastidious attention to detail, my mother suggested I contact Kay for packing ideas, since we were aware that she had organized trips to Israel in the past.  Kay graciously forwarded some packing suggestions and gently suggested that we consider joining a scholarly tour she was planning for 2002.

As October of 2000 rolled around, the USS Cole was bombed, and though unconnected and distant from any of our travel plans, fear caused the trip to be cancelled. While extremely disappointed, knowing now what I didn’t know then, I am indeed thankful that our plans were changed.

In 2001, we began an extended series of teaching lessons with Kay and the 2002 Tour group, which paved the way for us to understand and appreciate the depth of the history, culture and geography of the Land we were about to explore. Under the expert guidance of Dr. Stephen Langfur and other regional scholar guides, both my husband and I decided that one trip was not sufficient to absorb what we experienced.

Multiple trips to the Middle East later, my passion for learning and understanding the roots of my faith and the context of the Bible continues to grow.

While I continue to seek truth and offer counsel in my legal career, I encourage anyone who is passionate about knowing God, to join DTBL! on an upcoming tour.
Then you too can dig for the truth and have a richer, deeper understanding of why you believe what you believe.

What others say. . .

"The experience Kay helps make possible is so rich – beyond absorbing in a single visit – that many of her members return time and time again: it is a rate of recurrence such as I have never seen elsewhere. I recommend Kay Money’s leadership wholeheartedly to anyone who wants a visit that does the land justice."
